Sarah Redwood Lee, 1881

Sarah Redwood Lee was the oldest of the five children of Dr. Charles Carroll and Helen Parrish Lee. This portrait was developed from the earlier portrait of Sarah and her mother. Saint-Gaudens considered this plaque, and that of Samuel G. Ward, his finest bas reliefs.
