Dunrobin, 1884 "Dunrobin" was the Saint-Gaudens family pet during the time that this relief and that of the Schiff children were modeled. The dog provides the unifying element for the Schiff portrait. Saint-Gaudens thought "Dunrobin," a Scottish deerhound, to be the most beautiful dog, possibly the most beautiful animal, he had ever seen.
