The Women’s Auxiliary of the Massachusetts Civil Service Reform Association Presentation Medal, 1905-06 Saint-Gaudens’ niece, Marian Clark Nichols, was an officer of The Women’s Auxiliary, and she commissioned this medal for the association. Frances Grimes modeled the medal from Saint-Gaudens’ designs, though very few medals were produced. In 1996, the Mint created a special silver dollar, the National Community Service Commemorative Coin, based on this design. |
