| Cameo designs are created with fine cutting tools affixed to a mechanical lathe. The lathe turns a range of tools, enabling the artist to work as much detail into the design as his skill will allow. Stone cameos, such as those pictured above, are more common than cameos made of shell, as stone is a much sturdier medium. |
